John is a degreed Engineer (UCLA – BSME) with a Masters in Business Administration from USC (the other one in Southern California). He spent his career in the industrial sector, specializing in motion control system sales and engineering.
Always interested in operating their own business, he and his wife, Jody, started their company specializing in providing senior health insurance products. They felt that many providers in the insurance industry focused too much on product sales from a few carriers and not on a client's unique, individual health care requirements. Drawing on his systems sales background, John felt that seniors would be better served by focusing on a client's actual needs and not just “pushing” a particular carrier’s product. Consequently, he has developed strong relationships with many major carriers in the Carolinas and works as an independent agent. This means he is not tied to a limited number of Carriers, allowing access to more options to ensure he can provide his clients with the best products to fit their needs. He offers most of the Carriers of Medicare, long term care and life insurance products. He prides himself in being a responsive, local agent where he can work with his clients in a face-to-face environment while conducting personalized “kitchen table" conferences.
His company is supported administratively and technically by two successful Field Marketing Organizations (FMOs): Lourie Life & Health of Columbia, SC and Premier Marketing out of Norfolk, Nebraska. These organizations allow John to devote the majority of his time to working with clients, while most of the administrative needs of the business and valuable in-depth product training are handled by the FMO
